A ‘sight’ to behold. A ‘site’ to experience.

The large 4-lakh square feet podium, which is a little bigger than three football fields is worth a visit!

The stunning podium is the result of the massive collaborative effort by our architects, engineers and horticulture teams. Our patrons who have been visiting the project site to take possession of their apartments, or guests visiting the project, have taken a fancy to the colourful gardens atop the podium. Here is an insider view on how we created the green haven…

The Hiranandani Group has always maintained a special tryst with nature, and one of its persistent endeavours is the curation of a native nursery that nurtures a minimum of three lakh saplings in each of its projects. The Horticulture Department passionately instituted by Dr Niranjan Hiranandani and led by Mr. Pravin More endeavours to create urban gardens that are sustainable, with the ability to green the township and encourage a better quality of breathable air for its residents and other stakeholders. Our very own Hiranandani Fortune City, Panvel, houses a beautiful nursery spearheaded on-site by our own, Mr. Green-thumb - Mr. Dnyanoba Gole. Responsible for the greening of our township, he has, with the support of the senior members of the Horticulture Department and the enthusiastic backing of Dr Niranjan Hiranandani, worked on the soft-scaping of 55,000 sq.ft. of the podium which includes 250 trees and a vast variety of fowering shrubs and dense green bushes.

Hues of blues, yellows, pinks, violets and whites are sprinkled throughout the sea of greens that we have come to love. With many varieties of shrubs shepherded in our own nursery, ‘Gole’ as he is fondly called has managed to and that perfect concoction of imported varieties with the native flora. Irrigation systems, soil harvesting, and plant-root management have all been thought beforehand to deliver a product that stands true to the legacy of Hiranandani. A major challenge faced by our construction teams was to handle the flow of water judiciously. Paucity of it will result in drying up of flower beds and excess of it will damage the plants. To achieve a permanent solution, the construction team led by Mr. Pravin Mewada and guided by our head of construction, Mr. Cyrus Pitthawala and the horticulture team have come together to create an indigenous water irrigation system, that provides just about the right amount of water required for the flora on a daily basis. The system not only prevents excess water usage, but it also conserves water.

On a technical front, the podium, has a mix of grass, flowering shrubs, such as Zoysia Japonica, Cynodon Dactylon, Cassia Fistula, Brownea coccinea and some variants of bougainvillea. Strategically placed aromatic plants like Michelia Champaca, Cestrum Noctunum, Plumeria spp. and some varieties of ficus have be planted to reduce odours. A few more exotic and rare species of flowering plants have been added for the aesthetic value of gardens. The soft-scaping of the podium, that included mixing mud and fertilizers, creating mounds for short trees, plantations and grassing was carried within a span of 6-months. Seasonal plants that demand extra-care are nurtured at our nursery. In fact, we encourage all our customers to go visit the nursery. The civic developments at Panvel are just taking flight, a transformation is in the making. Already a planned city, Panvel today is among the fastest-growing residential and commercial centers in India. The high-speed, access-controlled Virar-Alibaug expressway will pass through Panvel with multiple ramps, boosting connectivity with the far-flung suburbs of the greater Mumbai Metropolitan Region. A lot of local entrepreneurs have found success within the vicinity resulting not only in MSME enterprises but also innovative retail. Large IT companies have started calling Panvel, home.

The developments for the suburban railway line from Panvel to Karjat is on track and is progressing as expected. The trans-harbour service now boasts of an air-conditioned train to make travel very comfortable. The upgradation of Panvel Station as a terminus for both the suburban corridor as well as outstation trains is ongoing. The latest technologies and design elements are being utilized by the nodal authorities.

The Navi Mumbai Metro (or ‘nmm’ as it is fondly called); has initiated its first set of trail runs. These developments will further boost connectivity. As the civic infrastructure has developed at such a rapid pace, the traveling time between Hiranandani Fortune City and the suburbs of Mumbai has reduced & is further expected to come down. As for the areas that immediately surround Hiranandani Fortune City, a lot of developments are now visible. Basic services such as fuel stations, vehicle maintenance, restaurant refurbishment, and a few new stores have opened. All this and the completion of our first phase of towers have had a positive impact on the township as well.

Today, we see many residents conducting interior works in their respective apartments.
